At his death he was the towns richest man\nleaving an estate of $45,000, and after many years in\nhis property to his four sons and one daughter who remained in life.\nHe died his wife Abigail found the Baptist Church on the\n1r Dec 1808 transferring their membership to the Baptist\nChurch in Middlebury, 27 July 1817.\nHe was a member of the Masonic Order.\nOn Jan 7, 1800 he was elected first selectman in 1819 and 1820\nhe was a member of the State Constitutional Convention in 1823,\nand was the first representative to the State Legislature from\nira, he served on the County Board Jury and was foreman\nmany years.\n\nRef: The Irish Family in England and America by Lester Warren Quick\n(1948) pp 122, 123, 152, 153 - 126 "}
