tales to tails
Tales to Tails is a monthly program to encourage beginning readers to practice their reading skills. Trained therapy dogs and their handlers are available for children to meet, greet, and read aloud to. Check our events calendar for the next session. Free and open to all. Thank you to Caring Canines volunteers for this wonderful program.
story hour takes place every Thursday morning (except during the month of August) from 10 -10 :45 upstairs in the spacious Fox Room. Story hours promote early literacy and socialization skills in a fun setting. Each session offers stories, songs, movement, and a fun craft. No registration is required. Suggested for ages 2 and older. Free and open to all.
babies and toddlers rock
Babies and Toddlers Rock, a music and preliteracy program for children 0-24 months, is scheduled every Monday morning from 10 – 10:30. This program takes a summer hiatus. Please check the calendar to confirm dates. Free and open to all. Children and parents love this program. Join us and see why.
The library is pleased to be partners with Rutland County Parent Child Center. Together we host playgroups Friday mornings in the Fox Room from 9:30-11 AM. Always free and open to all.
Come create with our collection of some 20,000 Lego bricks. There’s a new theme each time and all the finished projects are displayed in the children’s section downstairs. Monthly in the Fox Room (weekly in the summer; please see the calendar for dates / times), in cooperation with the Boys & Girls Club.
